Reports
LAD automatically generates network activity reports every eight hours. Some reports, such as the LAN and WAN reports pertain to the network in general, while other reports pertain to the activity of specific network clients.
LAN/WAN Reports
The LAN and WAN reports are generated automatically every eight hours and aggregate general network-wide LAN and WAN activity. To access these reports, go to the Main Menu. Click on the “Reports” button in the bottom right-hand corner, within the “Network Utilization” section. This will open a new page.
The LAN/WAN Reports page displays the most recently generated reports on local area network and wide area network (Internet) activity. Older reports may be found by entering the desired date range in the fields under “Reports by Date.” Clicking on the name of a report will open it. Please note that some reports may take a few moments to load due to their size.
These reports are generated every eight hours automatically, however interim reports may be generated on demand by clicking on “Generate Interim Report.” The interim report will cover from the end of the last report until the time the “Generate Interim Report” button was clicked.
The LAN and WAN reports provide a number of statistics from the covered period of network activity.
You may also choose to view a graph of the network activity covered by a specific report period by clicking on the “Graph It” link next to the report title. Please note that some graphs may take a few moments to generate and load, depending on the amount of data within the corresponding time period.
Reports for Individual Devices
Reports pertaining to the activity of individual devices may be accessed from the device’s settings and info page or from the lists of active or all devices. Clicking on “Reports & PCAP” will open a new page with a list of the most recently generated reports for the device. Older reports may be found by entering the desired date range in the fields under “Reports by Date.” Clicking on the name of a report will open it. Please note that some reports may take a few moments to load due to their size.
LAD generates two types of reports for individual devices, “Allowed” reports and “Denied” reports. “Allowed” reports contain the information pertaining to communications that were allowed by LAD, while the “Denied” reports contain information pertaining to communications that were denied, or blocked, by LAD. Essentially, “Allowed” traffic is the permitted traffic for the device, whereas “Denied” traffic is the traffic that has been designated unwanted by means of blacklisting, DNS firewalling and other access controls.
These reports are generated every eight hours automatically, however interim reports may be generated on demand by clicking on “Generate Interim Report.” The interim report will cover from the end of the last report until the time the “Generate Interim Report” button was clicked.
Reports and Statistics for LAD’s Network Interface Ports
Reports pertaining to the activity on LAD's individual network interface ports are accessible by clicking on “Ports” from the main menu. This will bring up a complete list of LAD’s network interface ports, along with status and utilization statistics for each port. Clicking on a port name will bring up the settings and info page for the particular port, including links to its activity reports.
Network Logs
Net logs covering the connection and disconnection of devices, detection of new devices, the assignment of IP addresses and WAN availability and DHCP requests are available from the Sys Info page.
